The Parkview Parochial League is made up of 25 Catholic grade schools from across the greater Milwaukee area, bringing their athletes together to play organized basketball and volleyball. For a lot of these kids, it’s their first experience with real team sports: learning the fundamentals, competing week to week, and discovering what it means to show up for their teammates.

The league is run by a volunteer board, together with the athletic directors, sports coordinators, coaches, and parents at each member school, and the focus stays where it should, on the players. Games are competitive and the standings matter, but the bigger aim is a well-organized, positive season, one where athletes build skills and confidence, schools enjoy a little friendly rivalry, and families have a good reason to spend a Saturday morning in the gym.

Season after season, that’s what the league is really about: giving young athletes a place to play, improve, and be part of something with the schools and neighborhoods they come from.
